FL-21 Poll: Martinez, Diaz-Balart Statistically Tied
Posted: Jul 09, 2008Hialeah, FL – According to an independent poll released yesterday by polling firm Bendixen & Associates, former Hialeah Mayor Raul Martinez has closed the gap and is statistically tied with incumbent Congressman Lincoln Diaz-Balart, 37 percent to 41 percent, with 22 percent undecided. The poll of nearly 350 registered voters, conducted June 6 to 22, has a margin of error of plus or minus five percentage points.
“The voters are rejecting the failed policies of the past eight years and are disappointed with their congressman’s blind support of President Bush,” said Mayor Martinez. “People want positive change. They want someone who will improve the economy, lower the cost of healthcare and gas, and someone who will get us out of Iraq.”“Voters see Lincoln Diaz–Balart as part of the problem in Washington that needs to be fixed,” added Mayor Martinez.
