Non-Partisan Rothenberg Political Report Adds FL-21 Race, Ranks as
Posted: Jul 31, 2008Hialeah, FL(Immediate Release) – The Rothenberg Political Report, an independent, non-partisan newsletter that analyzes campaigns, today added Raul Martinez’s race in Florida’s 21st Congressional District to their list of competitive races across the nation, ranking the race as “Lean Republican.” The race’s inclusion as one of only eleven races in the country ranked as “Lean Republican” signifies that this race is highly competitive.
“Mayor Martinez has fought for the people in his community all of his life and will take on the important issues that his opponent has failed to address despite sixteen years in Washington,” said Martinez’s Communications Director Aaron Blye. “Non-partisan political analysts see that Lincoln Diaz-Balart has been a rubberstamp for President Bush and that Mayor Martinez has the ability to bring positive change to South Florida.”
Professional political analysts such as The Rothenberg Political Report, The Cook Political Report and CQ Politics have repeatedly upgraded this race, and all view the contest as highly competitive.
