FL-21: GOP Registration Drops Below 40% for the First Time

Hialeah, FL – According to new voter registration in Florida Congressional District 21 released by the Florida Division of Elections, Republican Party registration has dropped below 40% of total registered voters for the first time since the district was created. The district is separated by 4.66% in party registration, a drastic change from the 9% difference in party registration last election.


In the last 30 days, Democrats gained 2,000 registered voters resulting in a 60 day gain of 4,654 voters. Since the 2006 election, Democrats have gained 12,036 registered voters and Republicans have lost 1,111 registered voters. That is a swing of 13,147 registered voters, one of the biggest swings in the country.
