CBS4 Surprised to Read About CBS4 Debate in Miami Herald
Hialeah, FL – Statement from Aaron Blye, Martinez Campaign Communications Director regarding mystery CBS4 debate touted by Lincoln Diaz-Balart:

In today's Miami Herald, Lincoln Diaz-Balart's Campaign lied that there was a debate scheduled by CBS4. We were contacted verbally by CBS4 this morning, after they saw the story in the Miami Herald, to see if Mayor Martinez would be interested in participating in a debate, but CBS4 still has not sent an invitation.

Ironically, CBS4 was just as surprised as everyone else to hear that Lincoln Diaz-Balart had agreed to a televised debate. This is the first time that CBS4 has contacted the Martinez Campaign about a debate, and they were told Mayor Martinez is very interested and awaiting an invitation.

There have been at least 7 invitations to debate, several of which will be televised and Lincoln Diaz-Balart has still not agreed to a televised debate.

Diaz-Balart was a no-show for a May debate planned by the South Florida AFL-CIO and said NO to an invitation to debate on Univision-23, the most watched TV station in the Miami media market.
