Representatives Lincoln and Mario Diaz-Balart have been noticeably absent lately.  Yesterday, Mario Diaz-Balart pulled out of a debate with Democratic Candidate Joe Garcia on issues affecting working families. Today, Lincoln Diaz-Balart is expected to also be a no-show at a similar forum with Raul Martinez.

May 22, 2008 - Today the Miami Herald reported that Lincoln Diaz-Balart refused to debate former Mayor of Hialeah, Raul Martinez at a forum organized by the South Florida AFL-CIO.

Unfortunately for the people of district 21, this is not the first time that Lincoln Diaz-Balart has cut and run from his obligations to the American public.

May 19, 2008 - On Thursday Lincoln Diaz-Balart voted against a bi-partisan GI Bill (HR 2642), voting against our brave men and women who have made the terrific sacrifice of serving in the armed forces during a time of war.
Instead of honoring their sacrifice, Lincoln Diaz-Balart voted with the Bush administration again and did so blindly.

May8, 2008 - Mayor Raul Martinez is celebrating a victory for the constituents of District 21 as his campaign has successfully educated Lincoln Diaz-Balart about the looming two year long housing crisis.  Mayor Martinez has repeatedly called on him to vote for the Neighborhood Stabilization Act of 2008.  Recently, Lincoln said he had not “studied this sufficiently”. “Fortunately, Mayor Martinez’s highlighting of the issue lead Lincoln to study the two-year crisis further.
