Healthcare
Raul Martinez understands that the rising cost of Healthcare has outpaced the wages and family incomes.
If we are going to help working families in South Florida it will begin with supporting universal healthcare. Raul Martinez strongly believes that every person should have access to affordable medical coverage.
In congress, Raul will work hard to expand the Children's Health Insurance Program also known as SCHIP. This program was intended for families who have jobs and still cannot afford healthcare Insurance.
There are over 50,000 children in Miami-Dade County that would have benefited from this expansion. There are roughly 500,000 people in South Florida without health insurance; 20% of those people are children.
Lincoln Diaz-Balart had a chance to offer nearly 10,000 children in District 21 access to Healthcare and voted no.
